We have had an exciting year so far with being awarded 3rd place in the Luton Sport Club of the Year 2013 event (first time we have been nominated) and supporting the Stars of Strictly on Tour 2014. With the GD1 dance show coming up soon, summer fete demonstrations, competitions, an ever growing class timetable, and exams coming up it looks like the rest of the year will be exciting and busy too.
Having recently supported the Stars of Strictly Come Dancing on tour for the 4th year, the show has received fantastic reviews. Local ‘What’s Good To Do’ reviewed the full house performance at the Grove Theatre on 10th April 2014. Giving some positive and rewarding feedback. Most people know Karen and I love dancing and have been performing and teaching for a long while now. But you never forgot certain feelings of excitement and nerves when your pupils are performing in any show, and there are certain things that remind us of what we have done to achieve what we have now. As we walked back stage at the lovely Grove Theatre the smell of hairspray, fake tan and deodorant brings back memories of our dancing competition days. Getting up at silly o’clock on a Sunday morning with sponge rollers in our hair and spirit gum on our faces to stick on our rhinestones! This has been our life for so many years now and we hope we are inspiring children and adults of all ages to participate in dance; so they can enjoy what we have for so long. Don’t worry we don’t insist on sponge rollers
Having been brought up in the midst of Latin and Ballroom dancing and disco dancing for many many years; we always love to watch the elegance, passion and technique that is shown when admiring these beautiful Latin dancers who this time were:Pasha and Katya, Ryan Hammond, Jasmine Takacs, Marcella Solimeo, and James Wilson. The amount of hard work that goes into what you see in each show is exhausting and endless. But all these shows would not be possible if it wasn’t for the business mind and charm of Mike Newman Jnr the compare of the evening and organiser, and our dedicated and wonderful NKB School of Dance pupils.
For those of you that saw the show we hope you enjoyed it and we certainly hope to be supporting year number 5!
